MARLENE’S STORY · CUSTOM WHITE METAL ROOF

A Family Home, Kept Familiar in Clean White Steel

Marlene wanted the familiar white roof her family home had always worn—along with the durability of steel. Her story is about being heard, staying informed and seeing careful work through to the finished roof.

The chimney-area concern was handled proactively

A HOME WITH FAMILY HISTORY

The goal was not to make the house look different.

The home had belonged to Marlene’s grandparents, and her family had lived there for close to 40 years. When it was time to plan another roof, she wanted a longer-term material without losing the look she knew.

Strong country winds and changing weather were part of the decision to consider steel. Just as important was choosing a roof that felt right on this particular home.

A CUSTOM ROOF COLOUR THAT FELT LIKE HOME

White was not a compromise. It was the point.

Marlene had spoken with other companies, but the standard dark options were not what she wanted. She wanted her old white roof back. When Pete brought a white sample, she felt that Country Towne had understood the assignment.

The colour took longer because it was custom ordered. That extra step helped preserve the character of the house while moving to a steel roofing system.

“I wanted my old white roof—and I got it.”

COMMUNICATION WITHOUT THE GUESSWORK

She knew what was happening before the work began.

Marlene describes knowing the start date, when the dumpster was coming and what to expect from the project. Updates came through email, phone calls and text messages, with the roofing process explained along the way.

For a homeowner who does not work in roofing, that practical communication removed much of the uncertainty that can come with a major exterior project.

A SMALL CONCERN, HANDLED BEFORE IT BECAME A BIG ONE

The crew took charge around the chimney area.

A little asphalt near the chimney raised a concern about marking the new white roof. Marlene came home to find a power washer in the driveway and the team already addressing it.

That moment stood out because she did not have to chase the issue. The response was practical, timely and part of the work—not a separate battle for the homeowner.

THE FINISHED WHITE METAL ROOF

A familiar look, renewed in steel.

After the project, Marlene reported that the roof had already been through torrential summer rain and intense heat without her needing to call the team back. She loved the finished result and the way the white roof refreshed the house.

Her experience is personal and time-bound; every home, roof assembly and weather exposure is different. A site visit and project-specific recommendation are still the right starting point.

WHITE METAL ROOF QUESTIONS

What homeowners can take from Marlene’s project

Can a metal roof be ordered in white?

Colour availability depends on the steel product, profile and supplier inventory. Marlene’s white was a custom-ordered colour, so planning and lead time mattered.

Why choose a white metal roof for a country home?

For Marlene, white preserved the familiar appearance of a family home while steel addressed her interest in durability and serviceability. The right choice varies by home and project goals.

What should homeowners expect during a metal roof project?

Clear expectations about timing, access, waste containers, site conditions and communication channels help make the process easier to follow.

Hi, my name is Marlene Curry. This is our home and behind us, this home was my grandparents' home and we've lived here for over almost close to 40 years. When we were looking to change our roof to a roof that we wouldn't have to change for more than a lifetime anymore, we decided to go with Country Towne. Well, the decision to change the roof

00:20–00:41 · Marlene Curry

was really quite easy. The last time the roof had been replaced was in 2010 and 12 when we put an addition on the home. Choosing a steel roof, especially out in the country, was not a hard decision. With weathering and the strong winds that we've had and the fact that we're not getting any younger, we decided that, you know what, the next roof has to be a little bit more durable

00:42–01:00 · Marlene Curry

and it has to be more serviceable and something that's gonna take us into the next couple of decades. I did my shopping and got other quotes. What I wanted was white and that's what we got and Country Towne was able to work with us. I think it was Pete when he brought out the white sample. I just knew, I thought he got me, he got it.

01:00–01:21 · Marlene Curry

Because there were so many other people that I talked to, they didn't get that I did not want a black roof, I didn't want a tan roof, I didn't want a gray roof, I wanted my old white roof and I got it. So the fact that somebody actually listened and was willing to go that other extra mile, it took a little longer, that was a custom ordered color. That was what I really hoped to achieve,

01:21–01:42 · Marlene Curry

keep the look of the house, but also have something that's gonna sustain. The team and the organization are just the utmost professionals. My line of work is not at all roofing. I know absolutely nothing about it. They explained everything along the way. The start date came, I was all informed

01:42–01:59 · Marlene Curry

about a dumpster was coming and I didn't have any worries whatsoever. The team communicated excellent through email, through calling, through texting. I guess the only surprising thing was a little bit around our chimney area. There was a little bit of asphalt and we didn't want any of that to be leaking onto that white.

02:00–02:22 · Marlene Curry

So, you know, I come home and I see that there's a power washer in my driveway. They just completely, you know, took charge. There was no worries, amazing people to work with. You know, I guess what I'm saying is if you can actually have like a home project like this come and have it performed without any hitch, you're lucky these days because I hear of nightmares.

02:22–02:40 · Marlene Curry

I'm gonna tell you there was absolutely nothing with country Towne and I am a pretty much a perfectionist. So if I can honestly say that, that is amazing. No, I love everything about the finished results. Oh, are you kidding? It's lovely. I can hardly wait to get my Christmas lights out and not that I want the winter to come

02:40–03:00 · Marlene Curry

but I do wanna see how the winter is going to be because so far we've had a lot of torrential rains this summer and we've had intense heat. It has been able to take it. I've never even had to call them back once. I think it's a fair consideration to do. It is a heavy set cost but in the long run, I'm not gonna be replacing this roof anymore in my lifetime. I'm not gonna worry about it.

03:01–03:20 · Marlene Curry

I'm just happy to know that I've got that security for the next quite a few years of my life. It's gonna be something that you wouldn't regret. The value that it's added to the home, you know, and the look, the pleasing look and the safety of the fact and also for the integrity of your house.

03:20–03:27 · Marlene Curry

It's like the house has had a Botox treatment. The house has had a complete rejuvenation. Very pleased with country Towne.
